Arianespace to launch ARSAT 2 |

Participating in this week’s Satellite 2011 conference in Washington, D.C., Arianespace announced today that it has signed a launch Service & Solutions contract with Argentine operator ARSAT (Empresa Argentina de Soluciones Satelitales Sociedad Anonima) to orbit its second satellite - Arsat-2 by the second half of 2013. Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) and SES (Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG) today announced an agreement to launch an SES 8 satellite using the Falcon 9 rocket. The deal marked the first geostationary satellite launch using SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket and is targeted for the first quarter of 2013. MELCO wins Turksat 4A/4B contract |

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced today that it has been awarded a turnkey contract for in-orbit delivery of the Turksat 4A and Turksat 4B communications satellites to Turksat Satellite Communication and Cable TV Operation AS (Turksat AS) slated for the fourth quarter of 2013 and the first quarter of 2014, respectively. Both satellites will be built on Mitsubishi Electric's DS2000 satellite bus platform offering minimum 15-year service lives will enable Turksat AS to provide telecommunication and direct TV broadcasting services throughout Turkey, as well as in Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa. NSS-703 is relocated to 47 West orbital position and will be opening up a new orbital spot within the SES WORLD SKIES flee. Operating in inclined orbit it will provide C- and Ku-band capacity over the Atlantic Ocean Region (predicted footprints). |
