International Launch Services announced that the ViaSat-1 satellite was successfully launched on a Proton/Breeze-M vehicle from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on October 19th 2011 at 18:48 GMT. After 9 hours and 12 minutes mission the sarellite was successfully deployed to the target orbit. Weighting 6740 kilos, ViaSat-1 will be the highest capacity satellite in the world providing multimedia Internet access over the North America.
