Intelsat 27 construction announced

Luxembourg, 16 August 2010

Intelsat S.A., the world’s leading provider of fixed satellite services, announced today that it has commenced construction of the Intelsat 27 satellite. The satellite will have a hybrid C- and Ku-band design for media and network customers and will be augmented with a 20 x 25 kHz channel UHF payload for use in government applications. It is expected to be launched by December 2012 and will be placed in the Atlantic Ocean Region as a replacement for the Intelsat 805 satellite.

According to Gazprom-Spacesystems website Yamal 101 (Yamal 100 KA1) satellite at 90 East position has reached its planned operational lifetime and was taken out of service.

Inmarsat-5 series to be build by Boeing

Arianespace to launch Intelsat-20 and GSAT-10

Arianespace announced today that it has been chosen by Intelsat to launch its Intelsat-20 satellite during the second quarter of 2012.

It was also announced that Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has chosen Arianespace to launch its GSAT 10 communications satellite.
